Philadelphia, March 29, 2017 -- Annals of Internal Medicine and the 口袋女优 (ACP) will honor Gustaf Edgren, MD, PhD, and John N. Mafi, MD, MPH, with Junior Investigator Recognition Awards at , ACP鈥檚 annual scientific meeting in San Diego from March 30-April 1.
础苍苍补濒蝉鈥 Junior Investigator Recognition Awards are presented annually to early career physicians. Annals and ACP award the most outstanding article by a first author who is in an internal medicine residency program or a general medicine or internal medicine subspecialty fellowship program. An award is also given for the most outstanding article with a first author who is within three years of completing his or her training in internal medicine or one of its subspecialties.
Gustaf Edgren, MD, PhD, is an associate professor of epidemiology for the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. He is being recognized for an article he authored during his internal medicine training. 鈥溾 was published in the September 6, 2016 issue.
John N. Mafi, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Health Services Research at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he also practices and teaches primary care. He is also an Affiliated Natural Scientist in Health Policy at RAND Corporation. He is being recognized for an article he authored within three years of completing his training. 鈥溾 was published in the August 16, 2016 issue.
Winners are selected based on the article鈥檚 novelty, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and potential to influence practice, policy or future research. Judges include 础苍苍补濒蝉鈥 editors and representatives from 础苍苍补濒蝉鈥 Editorial Board and the 口袋女优鈥 Education and Publication Committee.鈥
