Greetings from the Governor

Dear ACP Utah Members:

Wow! What an action-packed summer since my last update. I hope that you and your family have had some time for rest and relaxation.

ACP 2024 in Boston April 18-21 was spectacular. 53 Utahns registered as attendees and it was such a privilege to walk with our newly advanced fellows and to see so many of you at the Utah Chapter social.

The hard work of our Membership and Retention Committee Drs. Sonny Win, MD, FACP, Yaw Boateng MD, FACP and Jennifer Scott MD, FACP in conjunction with the response from EACH OF YOU (our members) led to our Utah chapter being recognized with a top award for the Chapter Challenge Outreach to Unpaid Membership. ACP Utah Chapter was presented two (2) $1000 awards to offset the expense for travel of two of our early career physicians to ACP 2024! THANK YOU for your continued engagement in our ACP!

I would like to extend a special shout-out to Dr. Aaron Crosby, MD FACP, and the Scientific Committee for securing an amazing Keynote for our ACP 2025 Scientific Meeting, Dr. Charlene M. Dewey, MD, MEd, MACP. She is the Joseph A. Johnson, Jr., Distinguished Leadership Professor, and Vanderbilt Chair of the Faculty Wellness Committee, and Professor of Medicine and Public Health and will certainly regale us with valuable insights and perspectives鈥擸OU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS IT!

With our Healthcare Policy Committee's leadership, Utah is Co-Sponsoring 2 resolutions this year. THANK YOU to those of you who shared your voice. The UMA Annual Meeting & House of Delegates meets September 13-14. This is an amazing opportunity to participle in legislative priorities for Internal Medicine in Utah. Please contact Paige DeMille: paige@utahmed.org to sign up to attend.

Dr. Lara Hayes MD our Student and IMIG Committee hosted an Internal Medicine match panel event in July.

The University of Utah IMIG invites you to the UUMC ACP Internal Medicine Interest Group Specialty Speed Dating dinner event on Thursday September 5th (9/5) in EHSEB from 5:30-7:00. At this informal dinner event, we will have tables set up for different specialties that students will rotate through to learn about the many specialties and paths available in Internal Medicine! I wish you and your loved ones an active, healthy, and safe autumn season.
